Inmates of Abhayakendram shall be treated as guests. No word or action of the staff or managing committee of Abhayakendram will give a feeling to the patients or bystanders that they are at the mercy of someone. Integrity and self respect of the guests will be upheld at all times.

Yes. At the time of admission, patients shall be issued with the rules and regulations of Abhaykendram and a code of conduct inside Abhayakendram. This shall cover

• (a) minimizing usage of water and power,
• (b) maintaining cleanliness,
• (c) respecting the comfort and convenience of other patients,
• (d) no cooking or water heaters in accommodation floors,
• (e) no smoking,
• (f) timings for operating the elevator,
• (e) mess timings etc.

Yes. Bystanders shall be asked to fill in an admission form and the information received shall be stored in the patient/bystander database.

Yes. Any suggestions or complaints can be made at any time. It will be viewed with due respect. Further, a feedback form can be filled in by the occupants at the time of check out.

Yes. A meeting of the inmates will be convened every week on a fixed day in the evening and the inmates will be addressed by a panel of counselors. The panel of counselors may include social workers, doctors, priests etc. The speech shall be strictly for motivating the patients. In addition, monthly Arts & Health Awareness programs will be conducted.

Common areas and rooms shall be cleaned in the morning every day. Room/bed will be cleaned and sanitized after an occupant is checked out. It is ensured that the room/bed is clean and sanitized before a patient is admitted. Kitchen and utensils will be cleaned after cooking every meal. Dining room and plates shall be cleaned immediately after serving the meal.
